Abstract

The present work is a research of juridical-environmental norms of "Cerrado" wood exploitation for vegetable coal production. The place of study was the northwest region of Minas Gerais State - Brazil, where the exploitation of the "Cerrado" is very intense due to vegetable coal production used by siderurgic plants. This area is considered the largest producer and consumer of vegetable coal from brazilian natural forests.
