Abstract

This paper presents a proposal to the prioritization of areas and sub watersheds to Legal Forest for Jaú Watershed, in São Paulo state, scope. It seeks the conservation of the water resources, the protection and the preservation of the biodiversity and the sustainability of the agricultural activities by means of the multi criteria evaluation method using the Geographic Information Systems. The results indicate 34.9% of the Jaú watershed and define seven sub watersheds (26% of total) as priorities for implementation of the Legal Reserve. The methodology used was adequate for the environmental planning al recovery watersheds.
